Belize 2012
| Overview Belize is a natural wonderland. Situated on the Caribbean Sea, its eastern shore is blessed with the second largest barrier reef in the world, second only to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. It is also known for its ancient ruins amid beautiful jungles in the west. The warm and friendly people of Belize make up the only official English-speaking country in Central America, though most speak Spanish as well. In Belize, you will build a crucial addition to an elementary school in a small village on the outskirts of Corozal. This new schoolroom will be an addition to the existing one-room school library and will allow the school to qualify for a government program that will bring computers to the school for the first time. The Humanitarian Experience group will spend one weekend visiting the exotic island of Ambergris Caye where you will snorkel in the National Marine Reserve, and a second weekend tubing through jungle caves in underground rivers and touring Book of Mormon ruins.
