Fiji East 2013
| Overview Fiji is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world to visit. On weekends you will enjoy one of the pristine outer islands, snorkel with colorful fish, try your hand at traditional net fishing, all while interacting with one of the warmest and friendliest cultures of the world. To make the experience extra authentic, your first weekend you will stay in a traditional “bure” (a thatch roof building) near the beach. Although it is one of the most beautiful places to visit, Fiji faces many hygiene and health-related issues. This summer, you'll be working alongside villagers in a village outside of Suva to add bathrooms to homes that are currently without plumbing, including flush toilet systems. Your efforts will help the people of Fiji reach a new standard of living. The involvement of great members of the LDS Church on the island is a bonus for everyone on the trip! You'll enjoy going to church and having FHE in the homes with the local members.
