Using an airline's unaccompanied minor service

If you are planning on flying to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) here are some tips about most major airline requirements for young travelers. Click the links for specific instructions on how to book this type of ticket.

Airlines where unaccompanied minor services are NOT required:

Alaska Airlines: Optional for 13-17-year-olds ($150).

Southwest Airlines: Travelers 12 years old and up are considered young travelers and there are no fees or required programs.

Airlines where unaccompanied minor services are required for 14-year-olds:

Delta Airlines: Required for 14-year-olds ($300). Optional for 15-16-year-olds with valid ID.

United Airlines: Required for 14-year-olds ($300). Optional for 15-16-year-olds with valid ID.

American Airlines: Required for 14-year-olds ($300). Optional for 15-16-year-olds with valid ID.

JetBlue: Required for 14-year olds ($300). Optional for 15-16 year-olds with valid ID.

If you are using unaccompanied minor services, you are responsible for the associated costs. You will also need your Trip Leader contact information, listed below because they are the person who will be meeting you upon arrival.
